Dave Portnoy hated Taylor Swift-Roger Goodell chat during Super Bowl

Barstool Sports founder and well-known Swiftie Dave Portnoy was a little upset Sunday night when Taylor Swift shared a conversation with Portnoy’s enemy, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Portnoy took to X to voice his frustration at the Super Bowl 2024 interaction.

“I hate this,” Portnoy posted on X with a clip of the conversation.

Portnoy has hated Goodell ever since the longtime commissioner went after former Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the Deflategate scandal.

In May 2015, when Goodell suspended Brady for four games, Portnoy and three other Barstool Brady fans staged a sit-in in the NFL’s New York City office.

They handcuffed themselves together in the lobby before being hauled out by police.

Brady would ultimately serve the suspension at the beginning of the 2016 season.

Due to Portnoy’s 2015 sit-in, Barstool has been banned from NFL events since.

That didn’t stop Portnoy from going to the Super Bowl in 2019 to see his Patriots win their sixth ring.

Portnoy, however, was hauled out of the game by police.

Starting to see a theme?

So, no wonder Portnoy couldn’t stand to see Swift talking to, or even be in the same suite as, Goodell.

Swift attended the game to support her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

After a slow first half, Kelce turned it on in the second half, finishing with nine receptions for 93 yards, including a 22-yard gain late in the fourth quarter to set up a game-tying field goal for Harrison Butker.

Fortunately, Swift made it up to Portnoy by not going up on stage with the Chiefs players during the trophy presentation.

“It’s so classy of Taylor to refuse to go on stage and steal all the shine from the players. You know Sister Jean would be hogging the mic right now,” Portnoy posted on X.
