Britt Baker Shares Brutal Photos Of Adam Cole's "Exploded" Ankle

MJF successfully defended the AEW Title against Samoa Joe at Grand Slam last week. Despite needing to also be there for the injured Roderick Strong, MJF's fellow ROH Tag Team Champion Adam Cole made it to ringside to cheer him on to victory. Cole seemed to hurt himself on the way to the ring though, visibly hobbling after he hopped off the ramp and onto the floor at ringside.

Exploded Ankle

Fast forward seven days and Cole is in a wheelchair with a big old cast on his leg. The former NXT Champion revealed his ankle "exploded" when he jumped off the ramp last week and that he's going to need surgery to fix it. It's still unclear whether Cole's ankle is really hurt or if this is all part of an angle, although the images Cole's partner Britt Baker shared on social media would suggest the injury is very real.

"This guy broke his ankle in three places on a freak accident. He still hobbled around on live TV because as we like to say 'the show must go on'," Baker posted. It's the photos Baker attached that seem to confirm Cole's ankle really is as injured as he claimed on Dynamite. A close-up of the ankle before the cast was put on shows it looking in a very bad way, and you don't need to be a radiographer to see the broken bones on Cole's x-ray.

Is This A Work?

There's still every chance this is an elaborate work, of course, and the photos were staged for Baker to post in an attempt to convince fans Cole will be off his feet for a while. That theory lines up with how Dynamite went off the air this week as someone in MJF's devil mask attacked Jay White. Cole convincing everyone he's hurt only to be revealed as the attacker would be quite the twist.

As real as the photos look, I for one am hoping Cole isn't hurt, or at least not as hurt as he and Baker have suggested. He and MJF have been putting together something special lately and it would be a real shame if that needs to come to an end before we reach its conclusion. The injury also comes off the back of Cole needing time off to recover from head injuries that could well have ended his career.
